Banana bread

Banana bread pancakes

I'm still on my pancake mission

3 egg whites
2TB. oat bran
1 TB. Bob's apple cinnamon hot cereal
1 TB. quick cook oats
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
dash salt
splash of almond milk
1/4 of a banana smashed
mix together
cook on both sides in a non stick pan

Topped with
almond flax butter
sliced banana
sliced raw almonds
dark chocolate chips
small drizzle of pure maple syrup

These pancakes smelled and tasted like banana bread. I think they could have used 1 or 2 TB. of whole wheat pastry flour to thicken them up a bit, with the addition of the smashed banana. With a few changes I would make these again.

Business Group Joins Massive Suit Against Health Care Reform

May 18, 2010 — A national group representing small businesses has signed onto a federal lawsuit filed by officials from 20 states that challenges the constitutionality of the new healthcare reform law, particularly its mandate for individuals to obtain insurance coverage.

An amended complaint filed last week in a federal district court in Pensacola, Florida, adds the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) to the list of plaintiffs. Two other new plaintiffs are the owner of an auto repair shop in Florida and a resident of Washington State, both of whom object to the requirement to carry health insurance beginning in 2014, according to the complaint.

In a press release, the NFIB stated that it seeks to increase healthcare coverage for more Americans, but not at the expense of constitutional freedoms, which it accuses the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA) of doing.

"The individual and employer mandates, onslaughts of new taxes, and onerous paperwork requirements in this unconstitutional law will devastate small businesses," the NFIB stated. It added that the individual mandate is "the first time the government is telling individuals they have to do something simply because they are alive."

The plaintiffs are the attorneys general of Alabama, Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Nebraska, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, and Washington and the governors of Arizona, Georgia, Mississippi, and Nevada. In addition, the attorney general of Virginia has filed a similar suit in a Virginia federal court. All of the state officials are Republicans except for James Caldwell, the attorney general of Louisiana, who is a Democrat.

Granola pancake

I tried a new pancake combo today. It wasn't as good as yesterday's, but I added more baking soda and it made it more fluffy, which I liked. It got a little too toasty on both sides, but still tasted good. I added granola hoping it would add a nice texture, but it didn't really stand out in the pancake.

3 egg whites
2 TB. oat bran
1 TB. quick cook oats
2 TB. Tj's low fat mixed berry granola
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
splash almond milk (were trying it out for the first time)
mix together
cook in non skillet pan on both sides (on low)
topped with
almond flax butter
Crofter's apricot all fruit spread
warmed up pear sauce

Most amazing pancake

This was one of the best pancakes I've ever had, it was so good.

3 egg whites
2 TB. Bob's spice n nice hot cereal
1 TB. oat bran
1 TB. quick cook oats
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1/4 tsp. baking soda
mix together
cook in a non stick pan on both sides
topped with
warmed up pear sauce
Tj's almond flax butter
unsweetened coconut
just the tinniest drizzle of pure maple syrup

Now I wanna try some other varieties of this pancake mix, the texture of this one was perfect.
